The second annual Copper and Fire art event heats up the B.C. Museum of Mining in Britannia Beach Sunday.

Fourteen artists from throughout the Sea to Sky corridor will be displaying pieces which incorporate the "Copper and Fire" theme, including metal artists, blacksmiths, stained glass artists, jewelry makers, painters and photographers.

The exhibit includes live demonstrations by Whistler glass blower Duane Perrett and Raku artist Jenny Smack. There will be live Raku firings throughout the day and people can purchase unfired works for the firings.

There will be a centre stage with live entertainment throughout the day, and a children’s area with face painters and a craft table where youngsters can create their own copper crowns and fire wands.

The event kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs all afternoon. For more information call the museum at 1-800-896-4044.
