The Whistler Children’s Choir will deck the halls at the 4 th Annual Christmas Breakfast and Toy Drive on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6:30 a.m. at the Westin Resort.
The morning holiday cheer will raise funds for Sea to Sky corridor food banks and hamper programs, including the Squamish Community Christmas Care, Whistler Community Services, Pemberton & Area Christmas Hamper Program and the Lil’wat Christmas Bureau.
Mike Ciccone from Mountain FM will host the festive event, broadcast live from the hotel lobby.
Residents and visitors are asked to join in the community spirit and donate a new toy, non-perishable food item and/or cash donation and in return receive a complimentary buffet breakfast.
And rumour has it Santa Claus might be making a surprise visit.
Photo auction raises funds for Zero Ceiling
Local photographers will showcase their works for a fundraising auction for the Zero Ceiling Society of Canada on Friday, Nov. 30 at the FireRock Lounge at the Westin Resort as part of the Whistler Creek Productions “Coming Out” Party.
Photographers showcased include Colin Adiar, Dano Pendygrasse, Mark Gallup, Eric Berger, Geoff Andruik and Blake Jorgenson.
The photographers are part of the new media collective called Whistler Creek Productions.
The local production company, headed by Stuart Andrews, Shin Campos and Glen Kaleka, represents directors, cinematographers and still photographers. The company hopes to expand to actors and location mangers in the near future.
Large canvas prints of the photographers’ works will be auctioned off, starting at $80, while DJ Mat the Alien and Hawtz Skillz will regulate the DJ booth.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Zero Ceiling, a locally run non-profit which introduces street youth to adventures and careers in the great outdoors.
Admission is free.
