The Whistler Chamber of Commerce is looking for candidates to fill four director positions on its board.
"The role of the board of directors at the chamber is to lead the organization through governance models, through best practices, and to assist the organization with fulfilling its vision and mission," said past chair of the board, Kendra Mazzei.
The chamber's nomination committee is looking for candidates for a three-year term who are committed to working together to help build a healthy local economy, as well as helping to grow the overall success of the Whistler community.
The board is composed of business leaders who dedicate themselves to the success of the Whistler Chamber.
"The directors bring to the organization a strong business knowledge and the ability to guide the organization through completing its vision and mission," said Mazzei.
Directors are asked to actively participate on sub-committees, which are aligned with their unique skill set.
The candidates should be in good standing with the chamber, or representatives of members in good standing of the WCC for a minimum of two years.
Those interested in running for a director position can find the nomination package on the WCC website, whistlerchamber.com. Applicants must comply with the requirements of the nomination process and be available for an interview between Oct. 26 and Nov. 3, 2013.
Nominations will be accepted from Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013 until 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013.
The newly elected board will be announced at the chamber's annual general meeting on Dec. 3, and will be sworn in at the first board meeting in Jan. 2014.
