One thing that Whistler and Sea to Sky don't do during the summer months is kick back and relax, even on the heels of the second-best season for snow on record. From May to October, the calendar is packed with events, to the point where you could find something to do almost every day of the week.
The regular events include 20 Thursday night Mountain bike races, 18 Monday Night Rides, downhill races almost every second week, trail running clinics and hash runs, sailing races, and leagues for beach volleyball, slo-pitch, touch rugby and more.

As well as regular events, there is a full-slate of major events in Whistler and the surrounding area. Some events, including the West Side Wheel Up and Betty vs. Veronica race are still to be announced.
There are also a few events missing from the calendar this year. Notably, the Dragon Boat Festival has been cancelled for 2011 because of the lack of interest there are plans to return in 2012. The Cheakamus Challenge Fall Classic mountain bike race is also missing from September's "Month of Pain" but another event will be held instead during the Crankworx festival with
May 1 - Mosquito Lake Trail Run. This roughly nine kilometre trail run in Pemberton starts and finishes at the end of Reid Road.
May 8 - Squamish Youth Triathlon. This event has been sold out since April 19. http://squamishyouthtri.ca.
May 14 - Ore Crusher. A 40 km, three-lap mountain bike race through the Cheekeye Fan trails in Squamish. Visit www.orecrusher.ca.
May 21-22 - Bike Bash. Celebrate the opening of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Visit www.whistlerbike.com for details.
May 28 - NimbyFifty. A tough, 30 km ride through some of Pemberton's toughest singletrack. Visit www.nimbyfifty.com.
May 28 - Kids of Steel/Sprint Triathlon. Organized by the Whistler Tri Club, these events lead off with a pool swim, followed by a road ride and Valley Trail Run. More info at www.whistlertriclub.ca.
May 29 - Whistler Valley Trail Run. Take on a 5 km or 10 km course through Lost Lake Park.
