best employees

Best employees recognized tonight 103 nominated in annual awards The 103 best employees in Whistler will be feted tonight (Friday) at the annual AMEX/Whistler Chamber of Commerce Employee Recognition Program. Held this year at the Chateau Whistler Frontenac Ballroom, the employees were nominated by Chamber member employers. Each employee will receive a watch and certificate, but all will have a shot at the grand prizes: $1,000 in American Express money, a deluxe weekend for two in Vancosy, or a mountain bike from Whistler Backroads Mountain Bike Adventures. New this year is additional sponsor Dominion Directory Information Services. It has kicked in $5,000 to help cover the cost of the employee recognition program. "It's such an important thing to recognize our best employees," says Thelma Johnstone, Chamber of Commerce director. Employees in this resort are reminded time and again of what good customer service means. Thanking the best is Whistler's way to applaud the level of service offered. The deadline to nominate the best employees is past, but "we would never say it's too late," Johnstone says of delinquent Chamber members.
