The Audain Art Gallery has released a varied summer program, including talks and summer art camps for children.
Squamish Nation sculptor and carver Xwalacktun (Rick Harry) is the first of a monthly series of public meetings with artists.
His metal sculpture He-yay-meymuy (The Big Flood) greets visitors to the art museum from its sitting place next to the entrance to the building.
He will be in conversation on Saturday, June 4, at 2 p.m. The event is free for museum members and with admission.
A workshop, Rethinking Landscape using Watercolour and Acrylic Paint, with painter Landon Mackenzie takes place on Saturday, June 11. The all-day workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and costs $125 ($110 for museum members). All levels of artistic experience welcome.

To celebrate National Aboriginal Day on Sunday, June 19, the museum will explore how portrait masks are a special part of First Nations storytelling and history. Children and teens can create art inspired by the museum's First Nations galleries.
It is free for museum members and for children age 16 & under.
And registration is now open for six summer art camps for children aged five to nine, and nine to 12.

Arts Whistler meeting with home-based studio artists
Arts Whistler is hosting a meeting with the resort's artists with home-based studios.
The meeting, on Tuesday, May 31, is to help artists learn more about regulations around opening their homes to the public. The Resort Municipality of Whistler passed recent zoning changes, which includes requiring artists to apply for permits and have their work judged by a jury.
The meeting will take place at the Maury Young Arts Centre at 4 p.m.
Quest Writer's Conference Cancelled
Quest University Canada's second writer's conference has been cancelled.
In a statement, the university said the conference, due to take place in early June, had been cancelled due to lack of enrolment.
