Children Grades 2 to 7 are invited to enter a poster design for the 2007 Whistler Children’s Festival poster and program guide cover.
The winner will not only have their artwork exposed to the masses, but the artist will also receive a goodie bag, which includes free family tickets to the festival as well as workshop passes.
Whistler Arts Council organizers encourage artists to develop images focusing on the uniqueness of being a Whistler kid. Organizers would like posters to emphasize the various components of the festival, including music, visual arts, crafts, theatre and dance.
The versatile image must be applicable to program, poster and advertisement formats. Large subjects with great colour contrast that will work in both black and white, and colour are recommended.
Entry deadline is Friday, March 30 at 5 p.m. Winners will be announced April 9.

Rebagliati to hit big screen
Whistler’s Ross Rebagliati will join Road Trip and Jackass stars on the screen for two new flicks, Shred and Shred II , currently being shot around ski resorts in North America.
Along with the gold medal Olympian, the snowboarding movies will feature Tom Green, star of Road Trip and Freddy Got Fingered , and Dave Englund, part of the crazy crew of the MTV series Jackass and Jackass The Movie .
Shred follows the story of two washed up pro snowboarders who attempt to cash in on the 1990s growth of snowboarding by starting their own snowboard camp.
Shred II carries on the story of the two young riders whose ambitions elevate them to rock star proportions, and the life of partying and video stardom threaten to tear apart the team and what first inspired them to pursue the sport in the beginning.
