The Canadian Cancer Society is holding its annual Daffodil Day this Sunday, April 1st.
Volunteers will be selling the flowers outside Nesters, the Grocery Store and the IGA from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. to raise funds for cancer care and research.
The society is also keen to hear from anyone who might be able to spare a couple of hours on Daffodil Day to help at one of the flower stalls. Potential volunteers should contact Joanne Turner on 935-1222.
Attention home shoppers
Potential house buyers in Whistler and Pemberton are being invited to a seminar to learn about the local housing market and meet some local experts.
At the session on Thursday, April 12, representatives of The Peaks at Pemberton, Garibaldi Mortgage Company, Whistler Real Estate Company and Whistler Housing Authority will all give short talks on purchasing a home and will answer questions.
The seminar is aimed mainly at first time buyers but it is open everyone interested in local housing issues and mortgages.
The seminar is being held in the Alex Philip Lounge at Myrtle Philip school at 7 p.m. Space is limited so anyone interested in attending is invited to RVSP Dave Beattie on 905-8855.
Pemberton Trade Fair coming
Companies in the Pemberton area are being invited to boost their business by taking part in the fourth annual Pemberton Trade Fair on Saturday, April 28.
All kinds of businesses, retail, industrial and home based, are welcome to take part. Space is also available for non-profit organizations.
The fair is being held at the Pemberton Community Centre from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Members of the Pemberton and District Chamber of Commerce can sign up for the event for $25. The registration fee for nonmembers is $45.
Registration forms are available in Pemberton at the Mystery Closet, Pemberton Trading Companies and the Pemberton Community Centre.
