What: Absolutely Fabulous, FAT

Where: My Place

When: Friday to Sunday, Jan. 17-19

It seems Whistlerites love watching drunken, self-obsessed single women stuck in the sexual revolution of the ’60s. So much so, that last year’s local stage hit Absolutely Fabulous, Fat, is returning for a trio of encores.

The mid-November two-night run was a sold out success which director and star, Michele Bush hopes to repeat.

"Every time I’ve been out, people come up saying they didn’t get their act together to buy tickets in time and were really bummed they missed out, so these new dates are for all the slacker locals," said Bush.

The stage play is based on the British television comedy Absolutely Fabulous , by Jennifer Saunders. The premise of the play centres around two women fixated on their wild youthful pasts and their burning desire to stay there.

All the original cast and crew are back for the new dates, which Bush said will be a lot easier for them.

"We had a mini rehearsal last week and we all still knew our lines to perfection. We’re looking forward to it as the last run was just practice, now we can relax and enjoy the show too."

The holiday season must surely be a big help to get in training for the character, Edina.

"Oh yes, all the parties and champagne is doing wonders for me," said Bush.

Sort yourselves out early this time and get your tickets now. Phone the MY Place box office on 604-935-8418. Adults are $20, students and seniors $16.
